Leading a successful and healthy lifestyles starts with keeping active and staying fit. Cadets will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of competitive sports not found in most other community programs
We work closely with young people to ensure they have a good understanding of what it means to be involved in their communities, and we hope to develop the leaders of tomorrow. Working closely with community organizations, our partners in service clubs and local business, as well as by engaging all levels of Government, our cadets work to have a positive influence in the community through volunteerism and community focused projects and training.
Participating in the Cadet program does not require anyone to move forward with a military career. However, through our close ties with units of the Canadian Armed Forces, Cadets will gain a better understanding of what the Canadian Armed Forces does, career opportunities available, and will learn foundational skills that can make them successful in this environment.
All Cadets participate in a common core training program focused on self development in a positive, inclusive, and supportive adventure based environment. Cadets can choose to specialize in several areas based on their interest through a variety of additional summer training programs.
The cadet program offers a variety of music programs as supplemental training. Our unit will offer instruction towards the development of a Pipes and Drums Band.

Competitive marksmanship is a cornerstone program of all three Cadet programs. Unit Teams compete annually, but individual cadets can continue on to advanced training and competitive opportunities as well. Selected cadets can continue their training into the summer Air Rifle Marksmanship Instructor or Full Bore Marksmanship programs and the best may be selected to the National Cadet Rifle Team who compete internationally each year.
The Cadet Expedition program offers the opportunity for cadets to challenge themselves through adventurous activities like mountain biking, canoeing, trekking, rock climbing and more. Regional, National, and International Expeditions offer selected cadets the opportunity to apply these skills in increasingly challenging environments.
